"La Llorona" is an original open edition poster print by eccentric artist Brian A. Bernhard.

The curse of the wailing vengeful spirit, she will never stop crying; after drowning her children in the river in misguided attempt at revenge against her cheating husband. She will forever be cursed to roam the waterfront, terrorizing any children who venture too close to the waters edge.

The most popular iteration of this ancient cryptid, known as "La Llorona" hails from Mexico around the 1500's; she has made popular culture appearances in movies like COCO, as well as, TV series such as Supernatural and Grimm. However, the earliest known documentation originates in Germanic lore from the 1400's. The Wailing Woman cryptid has been iterated in folkloric tales throughout almost every culture around the globe, from the mountains of Bavaria, to ancient Greece, the Highlands, Mexico, the Middle East and more.
